Los empleados de hoteles, restaurantes y otros trabajadores de la industria turística son los protagonistas
Utilizando anécdotas personales de empleados de hoteles, restaurantes, operadores y otros trabajadores de la industria turística, la organización de mercadeo de destino (DMO, en inglés) Discover Puerto Rico lanzó hoy un emotivo video para agradecer a los miles de turistas que han visitado la isla desde el paso del huracán María hace dos años.
La pieza fue producida por el equipo creativo y técnico local de Discover Puerto Rico, todos puertorriqueños, y se difundirá a través de las plataformas de redes sociales de la organización.
“Es un testamento vivo del espíritu de resiliencia de los puertorriqueños narrado a través de las vivencias de quienes están en contacto directo con los turistas. Queremos agradecer el voto de confianza y el apoyo que le han dado a la isla y resaltar que Puerto Rico está abierto para recibirlos”, explicó Brad Dean, principal oficial ejecutivo de Discover Puerto Rico, mediante comunicado de prensa.
La visita de miles de turistas a Puerto Rico, y los esfuerzos de promoción del DMO han alcanzado logros significativos este año incluyendo ingresos de alojamiento de $603 millones entre los meses de enero y julio de 2019 proveniente de hoteles y alquileres independientes, la mayor cantidad de llegadas de pasajeros en la historia a los aeropuertos de San Juan, Ponce y Aguadilla -con 2.59 millones de pasajeros de enero a julio de 2019.
Asimismo, han alcanzado un impacto económico inmediato de sobre $100 millones en el sector de reuniones y convenciones para los años 2019 y 2020.
